No more AetnaDental ID Cards

Good News! Aetna Dental ID Cards Will No Longer Be Needed

Effective January 1, 2015, Aetna Dental is making two changes to support its “go green” initiative:

  • If you are enrolled in the Dental Maintenance Organization (DMO®) option, you will no longer need to present your Aetna Dental member ID card when you go to your dentist.
  • Aetna Dental will no longer issue member ID cards to newly enrolled DMO members.

Going forward, when you visit your dentist, simply give your name, date of birth and member ID number.

Unsure of your member ID number? No problem! You can:

  • Print out an ID card (which contains your member ID number) from www.aetna.com. (You will need to register first; click on “Log In/Register” to sign up.)
  • Call Aetna Dental and ask for your member ID number. You can reach Aetna at:
    • 1-800-220-5470, if you are enrolled in the Traditional option; or
    • 1-800-220-5479, if you are enrolled in the DMO.
